Andrea is a driven and outgoing communicator with a passion for all things creative. She has 4+ years’ experience in public relations and currently works as a Corporate Communications Manager at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), the largest financial institution in the country. Her focus at RBC is internal and executive communications, supporting the Chief Administrative & Strategy Officer (CSO). She previously worked at a small public relations agency where she executed various integrated marketing campaigns for clients across apparel, food, beverage and other consumer brands, including: Nike, Apple, Reckitt Benckiser, Proximo, Arterra Spirits, LCBO, Nestle, Destination Toronto, Starbucks and KFC.
Andrea attended the University of Western Ontario, where she graduated from the Media, Information and Technoculture program with a certificate in Digital Communications. She then attended George Brown College to complete her postgraduate degree in Sport & Event Marketing.
Andrea’s uncle, Stephen Dawson, was a respected physician and beloved father. He passed away in 2017 due to Frontotemporal Dementia caused by the MAPT genetic mutation. Andrea is dedicated to working alongside the Cure MAPT FTD team to raise awareness and advocate for families struggling.
When she’s not working, she’s hanging out with her dog, Luna, and family and friends. She loves to read fantasy fiction books and watch the latest Netflix series. She’s also a foodie and loves to explore new restaurants in her home city of Toronto.
