Swetha Mohan, PhD

Research Consultant

Dr. Swetha Mohan is joining Cure MAPT as a Scientific Consultant. She is a molecular neurodegeneration scientist trained at the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center, where she studied disease mechanisms in FTD.

Following her academic training, Dr. Mohan worked in the biotechnology industry on preclinical drug discovery programs across multiple neurodegenerative diseases. Since 2021, she has worked as an independent consultant, supporting organizations by reviewing emerging research, helping identify and prioritize promising directions, and contributing scientific perspective to collaborative efforts.

In parallel, Dr. Mohan has been actively involved in building global collaborations to improve access to FTD research and information. She is motivated by a strong commitment to helping families stay informed, connected, and engaged—particularly across regions where resources may be limited. In her role with Cure MAPT FTD, she will help interpret and contribute scientific insights to new research, educational and community-facing efforts, as well as accessible communication about MAPT FTD
